Jungle Cruise Heading to Theatres

Early rumblings are being felt on the internet about a live action Jungle Cruise movie by Walt Disney Pictures. This would be the fourth movie based on a Disneyland attraction. First being  The Country Bears (sad end to a classic attraction), second the extremely popular and lucrative Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy (soon-to-be quadrilogy/saga), and of lesser note, The Haunted Mansion.

The film follows a group’s riverboat journey through a jungle in search of a cure, possibly for a friends illness. Details have been very few and far between. It has been announced that Spyglass Entertainment will produce the movie, making it Disney‘s first film to be produced by Spyglass, since 2007’s Underdog.

The biggest announcement so far was the recent reveal that the Toy Story trilogy co-stars Tom Hanks and Tim Allen would star in the film! I believe that the on screen chemistry between Hanks and Allen that was so apparent in the Toy Story franchise will translate easily to a live action buddy picture.

With no release information except for the year 2012 we will have to wait and see what the Wonderful World of Disney has in store for two of it’s finest actors.
